Due to this term at Uni being very full on I haven't had much time to dedicate to crochet, but I've been doing a bit here and there. I did have one project that I've been working on since about March, which I'm excited to say I finally finished!
It's an amigurumi doll of one of my favourite youtubers, called Dodger (Dexbonus and Presshearttocontinue). It started as an idea of something to give to her at Gemucon to show my appreciation as an avid viewer of her videos, but since the con got cancelled I decided to still finish it and will hopefully send it to her po box. I love the way it turned out (apart from the arms being a little short) and want to try to make more anthropomorphic amigurumi's. The hair was the most challenging as there weren't any tutorials or anything for doing straight realistic looking hair. I basically followed the method used to make animal yarn tails (use dog brush to brush out fibres and then a straightening iron). The copper and red colours worked better than I expected too
After posting it to deviantart and tumblr, I was so chuffed today that Dodger had seen and reblogged my post!! It's definitely brightened my day in what is currently a super stressful time in the last stretch of my dissertation.
